4th Street Fillin Station at Cocoa Beach Review

I’ve found some of the best food in Cocoa Beach at, believe it or not, a gas station! However, it’s not your typical gas station. 4th Street Fillin Station has transformed a garage into a large dining room and outdoor hangout.

This restaurant opened in February 2019 and has become a favorite with locals since! They have a variety of food, beer, and an fun atmosphere complete with great music. It’s the type of place that you want to go back to again and again, whether it’s to try another unique menu item or to just enjoy the breezy patio.

Location and Atmosphere

4th Street Fillin Station is located just north of Coconuts on the Beach off of 4th Street. There actually is an actual gas station attached to it, but there’s so much going on, you wouldn’t know it. The restaurant has an open bay garage area with high tops and a large bar and then an outdoor area.

The outside is my favorite part, as twinkle lights are hung through the trees and live music is played out here. However, we actually sat out on the front deck this time. This was still a good spot as well since it’s less loud and the front is decorated with colorful murals.

Everything about 4th Street Fillin Station feels fun and it palpitates throughout! If you just want to drink a craft beer and chill out on an Adirondack chair, you can totally do that here! Good luck resisting the food though 😉

Drinks at 4th Street Fillin Station

The drink menu is pretty extensive with tons of beers, wine and cocktails to choose from. I am so excited by the amount of beers they have on tap and by the bottle. Finally the Space Coast is getting some more tap houses!

There are apparently twenty-six taps and over fifty bottles to chose from. It can take forever to decide! The prices vary wildly with beers ranging from $5 to $11. Most of the more expensive ones are 16oz high ABV cans though.

You can order mainly California wines by the bottle or glass from $7 to $18. The cocktail menu at 4th Street Fillin Station also varies a lot! Look out for specials, like the Watermelon Mojitos made for the week of Fourth of July.

4th Street Fillin Station Menu

The food menu is just as diverse as the drinks. Finally, there is a restaurant in Cocoa Beach that caters to vegetarians. I am not one, but I’m always happy when I see a menu with unique veggie options. Here, you can get an Impossible burger or Impossible tacos, as well as a sweet potato based poke bowl and plant based brats!

4th Street Fillin Station mainly serves up burgers, sandwiches and tacos, but there’s plenty of other options on the menu. You could make a meal just out of the unique appetizers or you could get a bowl. The bowls vary from rice bowls to sausage with pasta to mac and cheese. Basically, there are no limits on what you can find here!

They even have a specifically gluten free menu, which has some modified entrees off the main menu. It’s nice to see that they cater to so many different diets! The best part is how affordable the food is though. Almost everything on the menu is under $11, although you have to pay extra for sides.

Our Experience

The main reason we came when we did was because we saw they had a rare Angry Chair Brewing beer! This is one of our favorite breweries in Tampa. Of course, it was gone by the time we made it there three days later. The brewery is just that popular! Luckily they had plenty of other beers to try.

I had an Intuition Aleworks Grapefruit Gose which was perfect for a hot night. We didn’t have any trouble finding a seat, although the place was busy and service was slow.

The rest of my family had beer as well, mainly from the can selection since those ones were more unique. We also got a few appetizers to start. This included the Poutine, the Asian Fried Cauliflower Bites and the Giant Pretzel.

The favorite of the night was the cauliflower, but everything was really good. They are on the spicy side, but so irresistible. The poutine had a hearty gravy on it and cheese curds that topped the crispy fries. The giant pretzel isn’t much to write about, but when can you go wrong with a giant pretzel? Especially when it has cheese?!

For dinner, Andrew and I split the poblano pepper burger and the appetizer of bulgogi smoked wings. We upgraded to a side of mac and cheese for the burger and between that and the wings and the apps, it was plenty of food for two people.

The burger was delicious with big roasted poblanos, Monterey Jack cheese and a habanero crema. I will say the patty was on the thin side and I expected it to be spicier! I’m not sure I would order mac and cheese as an entree as it’s a bit one note, but it made for a delectable side. Andrew especially loved the wings and I thought the spice blend on them was on point.

I believe my family also got burgers and everyone finished satisfied. The whole time we were there, they were playing a fun mix of alternative 2000’s music that really set the mood. I’m imagine this place is even more fun with live music!

4th Street Fillin Station Events

This is another local restaurant that puts on a lot of events in the community. They have a ton of outdoor space, so it does make it the perfect spot for events. One event that I want to make it to is the outdoor yoga. Right now they have this the first Saturday of every month from 10 to 11 in the morning. You pay $20 and get a beer after!

They also have live music frequently on Tuesdays and Saturdays. In the past, this has included reggae and rock music.

4th Street Fillin Station is the place to be on holidays too! This past weekend they had a Fourth of July cookout which included music and menu specials. I heard it was also a fun place to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with lots of specials then too! They haven’t been open long, and I’m sure more events will be coming soon from this spot.

Know Before You Go: 4th Street Fillin Station

• 4th Street Fillin Station is open from 11 AM to midnight everyday with the exception of Sunday when it opens at 10 AM for brunch.
• The restaurant is mainly outdoors, although there is some seating under an overhang.
• Dogs are allowed throughout the premises.
• Takeout is available, although I prefer enjoying the atmosphere here. The service can be slow, but it’s worth the wait.
• The bathrooms are located in the gas station and do not have many stalls. We found the waits to be pretty long for a restaurant.
• Parking fills up fast, but there is street parking nearby. You can also park in the USPS lot after hours.
• Happy hour is from 3-6 PM Monday through Friday and 10 PM – Midnight Sunday through Wednesday. You can get some appetizers for $5, as well as $5 cocktails, martinis and wine. There are also beer deals of the week for $4 or less.
