The Best Fort Myers Breweries to Visit in 2024

One of my favorite things to do while exploring Florida is checking out breweries and recently, we got to visit some Fort Myers breweries on our anniversary trip. We ended up trying five that I think are worth visiting in the Southwest Florida area!

Southwest Florida doesn’t have as many craft beer options as the Tampa area does just a couple hours north. However, there are still quite a few growing establishments that I am looking forward to seeing more of throughout the state. After our trip in April 2021, these are the Fort Myers breweries I recommend visiting.

Millennial Brewing Company

Our favorite brewery of the trip was Millennial Brewing Company, although we might be a little biased. We brought Kiwi and ended up meeting a whole gang of cute dogs having a pup birthday party here! That made for a very fun experience!

I do think this is one of the best Fort Myers breweries based on beer and experience though. This brewery is located in a large warehouse with plenty of room to hang out and not worry about the rain. There are food trucks almost every night, so it is one of the few Fort Myers breweries with food consistently.  When we went, there was even an artisan market going on too.

The beer is still the best part though and I loved every part of the flight I got. For someone like me who tends to prefer IPA’s, Millennial Brewing Company had me trying all sorts of kinds. The X-Wing Apricot Wit was a fruity delight and the Hoptain Planet had an excellent balance of hops. The one I couldn’t get enough of though was the French Toast Brown! This beer tasted like liquid french toast and we were shocked how much this sweet beer stood out to us! Millennial Brewing Co. has something for everyone (even non-alcoholic cocktails!), so definitely make a stop here if you are near the Fort Myers river district.

Fort Myers Brewing Company

For a larger brewery experience, complete with guided tours, Fort Myers Brewing Company is an awesome option. You can book a tour for Wednesday or Saturday, or stop by the taproom to try one of their 25+ beers on tap! We had found their High 5 IPA and American Wheat in stores before and were intrigued to try more.

At the brewery, you can always find nine core beers that range the spectrum of beer profiles. Fort Myers Brewing Co. also has a handful of seasonal and small batch creations that are more adventurous though. Andrew loved the Caloosahatchee Kolsch and my favorite was the Mango IPA. Crazy Dingo Brewing Company

Crazy Dingo Brewing Company is a fitting name for this next Fort Myers brewery, as it is definitely a quirky spot. This brewery is located on Southern Fresh Farms and is outdoors, with a nearby petting zoo. However, its completely covered from the rain and hot sun, with a large, spread out seating area. The brewery is tucked in the back, but worth seeking out for a beer and some fresh air!

They offer flights with a selection of four beers, so we got to try over half of the tap list. Crazy Dingo Brewing Co had quite the variety and the tap list is always changing. They currently do not have core beers, but we really liked the IPA and Pilsner hop and malt profiles. What really astonished us was the Kaw-Liga Elderberry and Prickly Pear Ale! This unique beer was just the right amount of sweet and sour. For a unique location and budding tap list, Crazy Dingo Brewing is one of my Fort Myers brewery recommendations.

Palm City Brewing Company

During the trip, our go-to beer at restaurants quickly became the Palm City Brewing Hazify. We didn’t even plan to go to this brewery until we had this beer enough to warrant a visit. This Fort Myers brewery is close to Estero, so a bit out of the way for vacationers. Here you will find a big open taproom and a multitude of beers to try.

The Hazify was my favorite IPA I tried in Fort Myers, and hazy, hoppy beers are definitely their specialty. The beers are so drinkable that it gets a little dangerous with so many 7% ABV and up beers! However, you can usually find a few lighter beers like the Beach Lager and even a guest cider or too. Whether you are a local or a tourist, this is an inviting brewery with frequent food trucks and events. You can only find their beer at restaurants and the brewery, not in stores, so make sure to pick up a pack of Hazify cans if you get the chance!

Coastal Dayz Brewery

The first Fort Myers brewery we visited was Coastal Dayz Brewery, because I can’t resist anything coastal! The taproom was laid-back with a cute patio and plenty of room inside and out. There is quite the surfer vibe here between the atmosphere and beer. We came here after lunch, because it was less than a mile away from the main downtown area.

Their tap list had at least a dozen beers and they said they usually have more, but were prepping for a brew fest. I tried a few of the core beers and found them to be refreshing, yet robust. The Port Side Pale Ale won out for me over both the Bombay and Seaz the Day IPA’s. Surprisingly, my most favorite was the Homeport Honey Wheat. It was smooth and subtly sweet in a way many honey beers are not! I found this Fort Myers brewery to epitomize the area and is worth a visit for the vibe and the brews.

Know Before You Go: Fort Myers Breweries to Visit

Though this area is not a craft beer mecca like other parts of Florida yet, there are still many great Fort Myers breweries to try. These do not cover all of the, but after doing some research, I think these are the top five to visit, especially if you are short on time. Most are more laid-back spots for a drink, rather than large places with restaurants and tours, but I think that makes it a more relaxing experience! Here are a few things to keep in mind before trying out the breweries of Fort Myers.

• Both Millennial and Coastal Dayz are within walking distance to the Fort Myers Riverside. The rest are in more residential areas you will have to drive to.
• All of these locations offer tasters, and most have growler and crowler pours for select beers.
• The tap lists are constantly changing, so be sure to call the brewery if you are looking for something specific.
• All of these breweries have patio seating and allow dogs with the exception of Palm City Brewing.
• Most of these breweries offer food trucks, at least on weekend nights. Call or check their Facebook page to be sure.
