Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club

IMG_1416Cape May Cafe is a Disney World buffet restaurant located in the Beach Club resort. As a kid, I loved going to the breakfast and hanging out with Disney characters in beach attire while I ate my Mickey Waffles. As an adult, I have enjoyed going for dinner for a coastal meal that includes tons of crab legs.

IMG_1423Buffets are not usually my thing, but I make an exception for this one and Boma, both of which I find well executed. For dinner, Cape May Cafe specializes in seafood and you can get crab legs, mussels, clams, peel and eat shrimp and a creamy clam chowder. There are plenty of non-fish options for land lovers, but I wouldn’t recommend going if you are not going to take advantage of the delicious and plentiful sea options.

IMG_1422They always have a carving station which has strip loin and accompaniments. We went on Thanksgiving so they also had a turkey and the usual sides of mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and stuffing. This is definitely not the place to go if you want a traditional Thanksgiving! If you go on a normal day, you will usually find barbecue ribs and chicken with a sauce and rotating pasta options in place of the Thanksgiving food that we had.

IMG_1424They also have a huge bread selection which can go nicely with all the buttery seafood and some cheeses. You can make yourself your own little antipasto plate with the different options if you like! There were at least 6 different salads including a great Cesar and a fall harvest salad, as well as a potato salad and a few other offerings. They also have a kids section with your average chicken fingers, mac and cheese and pizza. If you have kids, I would recommend the breakfast buffet, as they have way more options for picky eaters and characters as well.

IMG_1350The dessert table isn’t that impressive, but if you are like me you will have eaten so many crab legs that you don’t mind! There were multiple types of cakes, cookies and brownies, and the little bit I sampled was decent, not nothing amazing. It was a well spent Thanksgiving for us and we were happy to have as much seafood as we wanted. If your family is craving the New England Style Crab Boil experience, then this would be the perfect restaurant! It is also a great excuse to check out the beautiful Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. They always have the resort Christmas decorations up by Thanksgiving so we had fun soaking up the holiday ambiance after our meal.
