Enzo’s Hideaway at Disney Springs Review

Enzo’s Hideaway is one of Disney Springs lesser known restaurants. Ironically it is also “underground”, so maybe it’s supposed to be that way. This speakeasy/ Italian restaurant is one of the Patina owned spots that opened in Disney Springs early last year. If you like Italian food or are looking for a cool bar scene or a restaurant that doesn’t require a reservation, this is an excellent option.

We have been here a few times since it opened and are very impressed with the food and drinks. At first, it seemed a bit basic compared to some of the other Disney Springs offerings. However, we have found the high-quality ingredients and the cozy atmosphere make it a worthwhile restaurant.

Location & Atmosphere

Enzo’s Hideaway is located on the edge of the Landing, near STK and across from Planet Hollywood. This is in the area of the other three Patina restaurants-The Edison, Maria and Enzo’s, and Pizza Ponte. There’s a bit of controversy surrounding the existence of this restaurant.

In 2015, it was announced that a 21+ underground club called the Neverland Tunnels would be built under the old Adventurer’s Club. Given that this was everyone’s favorite part of pleasure island, there was a lot of excitement for a nighttime spot with similar fanfare. Nothing else was said until 2017, when all four Patina restaurants were slated to open at Disney Springs, including one underground. This was how Enzo’s Hideaway came to be.

Changing a nostalgic Disney night club to a family Italian restaurant definitely took a lot of the steam out of this restaurant opening. The whole Speakeasy thing was also kind of over by 2018 when Enzo’s Hideaway did open. However, they don’t really play too much into it, especially now that they’ve added outdoor seating right next to the “secret” door. Said secret door is located right under a giant dome sign, so again, quite a far stretch from a secret underground speakeasy.

The inside is very charming though with an Italian feel. There’s a lot of exposed brick and a gorgeous wooden bar. We were seated quickly both times we have recently visited, including once without a reservation.

Drinks at Enzo’s Hideaway

Being a speakeasy, of course Enzo’s Hideaway serves a wide array of libations. There is a very large wine list, a selection of craft beer and around fifteen different signature cocktails. The cocktails are called Giggle Water, cost $14 and are all made with top shelf liquor.

The drinks are almost expensive enough to make me order a beer instead, but I find beer is too heavy to drink with pasta. I ordered Paloma Italiano when I was last here for dinner and did not regret it. You could tell it was made with repesado tequila and the aperol added a unique spin on this usually Mexican cocktail.

If you are with a group, you can order a pitcher that serves two to four people. These are $36, so if you get at least three drinks out of them it’s a deal. Beverages offered for pitchers include a white or red sangria, a rum punch, and a sparkling grapefruit sage vodka cocktail. As far as non-alcoholic beverages go, Italian sodas are offered, which is a fun touch.

Lunch Options at Enzo’s Hideaway

I went to Enzo’s Hideaway soon after they opened and then did not get back until a recent lunch with family friends. The restaurant was offering 40% off lunch for annual passholders, which ended up being a huge savings. Enzo’s Hideaway no longer participates in that promotion, but Mario and Enzo’s next door does until June 2019.

The lunch menu is pretty similar to the dinner menu, with a few differences. There is a chicken parm panini and a Tuscan burger available. Also everything on the dinner menu is $1-$3 more than it costs at lunch time. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you are debating what time to go! Lunch goes from 11:30 AM-3:30 PM most days and dinner from 5 PM to 10 or 11.

On this visit, Andrew and I ordered the Nona’s Pasta for Two. This shared dish consists of braised short rib, meatballs and Italian sausage mixed in with penne pasta and a tomato sauce. Then it’s topped with a creamy three cheese bechamel making for a very indulgent meal.

We both loved it, the pasta and the sauce especially. It was a little one note of course, but the flavors melted in your mouth. The braised short rib was my favorite of the three proteins served, although the meatballs and sausage balanced out the meal nicely. Between this and the complimentary Italian bread, we were very full after and couldn’t even finish the entire thing. It was a great deal for $23!

The rest of our party mainly ordered salads and sandwiches, which are also a pretty good size for the price. If you are in the mood for a light meal, order a salad and maybe a shared appetizer, like the charcuterie. If you like the pasta though, come with an appetite! I love the flavors of the sauces, and the ingredients are a higher quality than your typical Italian restaurant.

Dinner at Enzo’s Hideaway

I ended up back at Enzo’s Hideaway less than a month later while on a work trip. We arrived at Disney Springs on a cold Monday night and still couldn’t get into Frontera Cocina or Homecomin‘ without a reservation. I decided we should check out Enzo’s Hideaway, and they had plenty of seating left! And with that, this has become my new restaurant choice for when I don’t have a reservation.

Anyways, on that evening for dinner, I was pretty hungry, but remembered how great the salads looked last time. I decided to order the $14 Ceaser Salad and the $21 Three Cheese Ravioli.

I had them served at the same time and found it to be a lovely pairing. This was still too much to finish, but I liked having some salad to balance out the creamy raviolis. They were covered in a delicious Parmesan cream sauce and topped with a dollop of almond pesto. It said the pecorino cheese was smoked, but it did not taste smoked to me.

I think I actually preferred the salad more because it had a few twists on a cesar salad. The dressing was tangy and it was mixed well with sourdough croutons and a big piece of crispy prosciutto. If Andrew and I had been there this time, I think we would have each ordered a pasta and then shared the salad for the perfect amount of food.

The Rest of the Menu

Enzo’s Hideaway is focused on serving Italian food with everything from a classic lasagna to branzino. This is a place with something for everyone as they have traditional dishes and more unique ones like squid ink pasta.

I have heard the charcuterie is excellent and really need to get that next time. The desserts sound very tasty as well with classics like cannolis, tiramisu, and amarena. Good luck having room though after all the pasta!

There’s a few options for vegetarians here include a pesto rigatoni, the eggplant parmesan, and many of the appetizers. The kids menu is extremely basic pasta and pizza. Portions are pretty big though, so more adventurous kids could always share with an adult.

I think the food is great here, and have a theory on the reason it is not as busy as others. My guess is because the other restaurants have been open for a few years and have an established presence at Disney Springs. However, the fact that it’s inside and doesn’t have windows can also be a turn off, since so many other restaurants have gorgeous water views. It’s not my first choice restaurant still, but the food is well done, so keep it in mind!

Sunday Supper at Enzo’s Hideaway

I still want to go back for one thing in a particular. Every week, Enzo’s Hideaway hosts a Sunday Supper. For $45, you are served the antipasto board, rigatoni in the special Sunday sauce and chicken, meatballs, braised short rib, sausage, potatoes and veggies to go with it. The meal ends with a trio of a cannoli, tiramisu and gelato!

I’ve heard the restaurant really goes all out and it’s a fun way to dine with friends. You also can bring your own wine to drink at dinner and there is no corkage fee. I’m all about getting lots of choices, and this is a way to try a bunch of things on the menu! The only bad thing is, I would need a nap before driving home after a meal like that!

Know Before You Go

Enzo’s Hideaway may not live up to the idea of the Neverland tunnels, but it is still probably the best Italian restaurant at Disney World. The only ones that even compare are at the Epcot Italy pavilion, and I feel like those have a very different vibe. If you want comfort food and a good drink, this is a great way to enjoy yourself and get away from the crowds of Disney Springs.
