Our Coastal Vacation at Hyatt House Naples Review

We just got back from a relaxing long weekend in Naples and I am convinced the Hyatt House Naples was the perfect hotel for our trip. Andrew, our dog Charlie and I stayed in a king bed suite for three nights. The room was so nice and spacious, we could have stayed there all weekend, if there weren’t so much to do in Naples!

I was originally worried this hotel wouldn’t be enough of a resort for the weekend I had in mind. I was completely wrong about that though! The pool and dock area is the perfect hangout spot and there are plenty of other amenities here as well. Best of all, it was close to all the local attractions. If you are on the fence about where to stay for a Naples vacation, I will explain all the reasons why I think the Hyatt House Naples is an excellent choice in this review.

Location and Atmosphere

The Hyatt House Naples is situated on a little island on Tamiami Trail. It connects the land and beach side and is about half a mile away from the famous 5th Ave of Naples. This is the main shopping and dining area, so it was very convenient to be within walking distance of. The touristy Tin City and the stylish Bayfront Town Center are an even shorter walk from here.

This hotel is practically surrounded by water though and I could not get enough of the views. There are docks out back that you can watch for dolphins and manatees from as the sun goes down. We loved walking Charlie out here during sunset  and looking for them!

The interior is a lot more upscale than I expected for a Hyatt House, as they are usually aimed at extended stay travelers. However, it has an ornate lobby with some tropical flairs, like the jellyfish lights. Nautical wood touches and a blue green color scheme can be seen throughout the resort and at the pool area. Outside is an especially nice spot with tons of lounge chairs and even grills and a fire pit. It seems more of the guests were there for short stays as well, but I definitely wouldn’t mind staying here for a few weeks!

Guest Rooms at Hyatt House Naples

The hotel is split between typical one bedroom hotel rooms and multi-room suites. Since we paid with World of Hyatt points, we could only reserve a king bedroom. Once we were checking in though, they upgraded up to a suite! If you are paying with points, I recommend asking for this upgrade. However, the time of year will play a role in availability and I think the fact that it was the down season helped us get the upgrade.

The King Bedroom suite we got had a large living area and then a separate area for the bedroom and bathroom. It is divided into a living room with a TV and a sectional and a full kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could need, including a full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, microwave and even cooking pans and utensils.

The bedroom was spacious with the king bed and two closets and it also led out of to the lanai. Many of the rooms here have either a lanai or a balcony, so be sure to request that as well. Ours had a gorgeous view of the bay! I imagine the pet rooms are usually on the ground floor and this worked perfect for us and Charlie. The bathroom was pretty big too and had a walk-in shower.

Not only were the guest rooms expansive, but they also have a cute, coastal decor. In fact, I almost felt at home with all the teal and beach pictures! It definitely sets the vibe for a beachy vacation.

Pool and Amenities

The Hyatt House Naples has a lot of your standard hotel amenities, but they are executed well here. I found the pool and hot tub to be the high point. It was pretty crowded during the weekend, but there were still tons of lounge chairs, many with shade, and lots of room in the pool. The one downside is it closes at 10 PM every night and they are strict to enforce it. We were two of many out there one evening and were sad to have to get out!

However, you can enjoy the fire pit late into the night, as well as the Adirondack chairs on the dock. You can also rent boats, paddleboards, kayaks and bikes from Port of Call Rentals from the dock. The prices are reasonable and there’s a lot to see or fish for in the surrounding area if you are looking for something to do.

If you prefer a more traditional workout, they have a well appointed gym with ample treadmills and equipment. I used the treadmill one morning when it was too hot to jog outside and enjoyed the window view of the bay.

The fact that the hotel is dog-friendly is another plus. It was only $75 for Charlie to stay with us. However, if you stay more than 7 nights, an additional $100 fee is added. We saw a lot of dogs staying here, yet never heard any barking in our room or saw any accidents. They definitely accommodate pet owners here!

Dining at Hyatt House Naples

One more amenity I have to mention is the free, daily breakfast. This is offered every morning and has your typical spread of eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and fruit. They switch it up a little each day, but it tends to be just average fair. It’s still convenient to have though!

There also is Latitude 26, a full service restaurant open for lunch and dinner. We did not dine here, but we did get some happy hour food at one point by the pool. They have some excellent deals each night from 4 PM – 7 PM. You can get a selection of appetizers from $5 to $7 or all four appetizers for $13. We got this sampler, and the wings and crab fondue were by far the best option. Nothing was amazing, but it was decent for a cheap snack.

As for drink during happy hour, we got some local beer for $5 and they also have wine and well drinks for $6. They also have different drink deals fore each day of the week. This includes $7 Tito’s on Monday, 2-for-1 drinks on Tuesday, Wine Down Wednesday, $3.50 beer Thursday, $10 Old Fashioned Friday, $6 Sangria Saturday, and all day happy hour Sunday.

Know Before You Go: Hyatt House Naples

I think most visitors would be very happy at the Hyatt House Naples, just like we were! It’s good for a lot of different types of stays, from a romantic trip to a family vacation. If you have Hyatt or Chase credit card points, I definitely recommend using them to stay here. Considering a night here usually costs at least $200, the 15,000 points per night cost is a deal!

If you are paying with cash, splurge the extra $20 per night for the suite. I was surprised to see there was not that big of a price difference, and I think it is worth it for the extra room. The fact that you can cook in the room can save you more than the cost per night. There is also an option for a two bedroom suite for those with four guests, but that is a lot pricier.

The main thing I want to stress, is to visit in the off season if you can! This hotel, and Naples in general, were very laid back at this point in September and it made for such a relaxing stay. Things pick up a lot between November and April, so keep that in mind if you are traveling then! Here’s everything else to know before your trip.

• The Hyatt House Naples is a Category 4 Hyatt hotel and costs 15,000 points per night. On average, cash rates are around $250.
• Parking costs $12 per day or $18 per day for valet. There is no resort fee though.
• Free amenities include a pool, hot tub, gym, fire pit, daily breakfast with coffee and wifi.
• Rooms sleep a maximum of five guests with two queen or king beds and a sofa bed. There are options for suites with half and full kitchens.
• A maximum of two dogs can stay in one room for $75 for 6 nights and under, and $175 for 7 or more nights.
• The hotel is in walking distance to 5th Avenue, Tin City and the Bayfront Town Center. It is less than a ten minute drive to the beach.
