Hyatt Place Boca Raton
We were back on the road again for another wedding weekend. This time it was in Boca Raton at the beautiful Addison gardens venue. This is one of the most popular wedding venues in Florida and we could see why after attending such a nice event there. We decided to stay in Downtown Boca so we were only a short uber ride away from the venue. We were happy to find that there was a Hyatt Place right in the heart of the city and very convenient for our trip.
We are loyal World of Hyatt members and try to stay at them as frequently as possible, as we have found their service and quality to be higher than other resort chains. Check-in was extremely smooth, a trend I have found across Hyatt properties. We reserved a king room with points and because of our loyalty were placed on the second to highest floor, so we had a great view.
The hotel room was pretty standard with a king bed and a decent sized seating area. There aren’t any balconies which is a shame given the views outside. The mattress and seating area were very comfortable as well.
The bathroom was also average, with a large walk in shower and plenty of vanity room. We were very happy with the larger than normal size of the room as well as the modern tropical vibe the hotel had.Another part that stood out was the rooftop pool. We didn’t have time to swim, but we checked it out and it was a much larger pool space than comparable hotels, and it was fun looking down on the city. The pool was heated, which was nice since we had been having an unusually cold winter in Florida. Other than that, the amenities were average with a decent sized gym and free breakfast that included your typical fare. The only downside we found was that we had to pay a $15 parking fee, which is pretty common with Hyatt hotels. The location was one of the best perks of the Hyatt Place Boca Raton. It was within walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. We walked to Mizner Park, which was a surprisingly large town center with so many stores to check out. They also have lots of events going on there throughout the year, including a Museum Art Festival that they have the first week of February each year. There is also a golf course and a highly rated children’s museum less than a quarter of a mile walk away, so there is something for everyone here. The beach is the only attraction that’s not in walking distance, but the closest one is only a 1.5 mile drive away. It’s a pretty busy road to get to it, so I would not try walking that mile and a half, even if you are in the mood for a walk. I think this is a great hotel for people wanting to experience the city and the beach of South Florida, without the tourists. You can have a very similar experience here as to Fort Lauderdale or Miami if you are not into clubbing, and it will feel less touristy. This is another great Hyatt property and with rates over $300 in February and March, this is an awesome value for redeeming points. If you only get the chance to visit for a weekend, I am sure like us, you will be wanting to go back soon!
