Preppy Bridal Accessories
Figuring out wedding accessories was harder than I expected. I wanted subtle, but elegant jewelry that also fit my style. For a necklace, I was thinking the size of a statement necklace would be good with my strapless dress, but there were very few subtle statement necklaces in store. Luckily, my mom came to the rescue and found me this beautiful Kate Spade necklace and matching earrings at Lord & Taylor. They do not sell it anymore, but Kate Spade is a great option for a classic gold or silver necklace. I found some similar options here and here. I also got very lucky in that my husband got me such a perfect engagement ring! I love my rose gold ring from James Allen. I ended up getting the matching wedding band which fits along with the engagement ring and then Andrew got a simple rose gold band from James Allen as well. I have had my ring for two years and it still looks as good as new! We are very happy with the quality and timelessness look of these rings. Choosing shoes was not as hard for me, I saw these Jack Rogers wedges and knew they would be perfect. Wedges were a smart choice for me as I am not a frequent high heel wearer. I was extremely comfortable in these all night and I was excited to have this preppy touch to my attire. I decided to wear my hair half-up, half-down and without a veil, but I still wanted some type of hair accessory. My hair stylist for the wedding told me about the website Haircomesthebride.com and they had so many gorgeous hair accessories. I went with the large Shauna comb and it was just the right size and style for my hair. I was worried my hair would have a hard time holding it but it was lighter than it looked and stayed in without trouble all night. I liked it so much, I bought a small piece for the home reception wedding celebration that my parents threw for us a couple months later. This is a great website for any hair needs from engagement parties to bridal showers to the big day.
The hardest thing about planning a wedding is all the decisions that have to be made! With Pinterest and countless websites to peruse, I lost so many hours endlessly browsing the internet for different ideas. Hopefully this guide to wedding accessories can help provide some ideas to anyone going through that now!
