Raglan Road at Disney Springs Review
I can’t believe I am just getting around to writing a blog post about Raglan Road, because I’ve been enjoying this restaurant for a decade! This was probably the first Disney Springs generation restaurant to open and it has withstood the test of time. Raglan Road is styled as an Irish Pub and surprisingly fits perfectly in the middle of Floridian Disney Springs.
This continues to be one of the most popular places to eat and reservations are highly recommend. Even with one, you may wait a while to be seated. It is worth it though for the delicious food and fun entertainment!
Location and Atmosphere
You can find Raglan Road on the edge of the landing across from Morimoto and Sprinkles. The building is a regal spot that looks straight out of Dublin. There’s even a bronze statue of a sleeping man outside!
There are two sections of outdoor seating, one for dining and one for drinks. Inside, is a bustling place with two bars and multiple sections of tables. If you have never been, you should request a spot near the stage, so you can see the Irish step dancers and musicians!
Drinks and Entertainment at Raglan Road
This wouldn’t be an Irish Pub without libations! They has Guinness and other Irish classics like Smithwicks and Harp, as well as a selection of craft beers. Most cost $8 and $10, which isn’t too bad for Disney Springs.
There’s also a huge selection of whiskey, especially Irish Whiskey of course. You can get a flight of different kinds too! There’s even wine and a selection of around $14 craft cocktails, which I have enjoyed in the past. My favorite is the Dublin Donkey, made with Teelings whiskey, ginger beer, lemon, lime and candied ginger!
Even if you just come here for a drink, you can still enjoy the live entertainment. They rotate between Irish musicians and step dancers, sometimes both performing at the same time. On our last visit, they had a great band playing some pub favorites. This reminded us of our recent trip to Dublin. You definitely get a taste of Ireland here!
The Raglan Road Menu
The Raglan Road Menu has changed a bit in the past ten years, but still had all the Irish staples! This included Fish and Chips, the Shepard’s Pie, Bangers and Mash, and Braised Beef with Colcannon Mashed Potatoes. I’ve had all of these at some point, and always thoroughly enjoyed them.
They have a variety of other entrees, many of which are seafood or beef based. There are only a few vegetarian items, like the Mushroom Risotto, Portobello Sandwich, and a couple of salads. True to Irish form, fourteen of the eighteen entrees contain potatoes, whether mashed, fried or roasted!
There are also a lot of appetizers to chose from. Many times I have just had an app or two and a drink. Options include soup, mussels, wings, and more!
The only downside of Raglan Road is how expensive it is. The appetizers start at $13 and the entrees range from $18 to $29. It is some of the most high quality Irish food you can find, but if I’m going to spend that much on a dinner, I usually a more upscale meal like Jaleo or Morimoto. Despite that, I still find myself here at least once a year! It’s the atmosphere that especially keeps us coming back.
My Favorites
Throughout the years, my order at Raglan Road has varied. For a while, I always got the “It’s Not Bleeding Chowder!” This has fish in potatoes in a creamy wine broth that goes great with the complimentary Irish soda bread!
Now I usually tend to the “Keen Eye for the Shepard’s Pie” or the Braised Beef. They are really flavorful compared to other places where I have had these dishes. I would say it’s even better than the braised beef we had in Dublin!
When I get a meal of appetizers, I love to get the Dalkey Duo. These are battered cocktail mini sausages served with a tangy mustard. I also love the truffle fries and the Irish Farmhouse Board. Between that and the Irish soda bread, that is plenty for a meal!
Brunch and Other Events
Raglan Road started doing a brunch a few years ago and it has quickly become legendary. I still haven’t been yet, but I always see it getting high praise. There’s a lot shorter wait for brunch though and just as nice of an atmosphere! If you can, it’s the perfect time to come.
The brunch had a lot of the normal menu, in addition to sandwiches and lots of breakfast dishes. There is everything from a hash to a smoked salmon benedict to a full Irish breakfast with black pudding. It is only offered on Saturday and Sunday, but you can get the menu anytime from 9 AM and 3 PM.
This Disney Springs restaurant hosts a few other annual events. The most popular is surprisingly the Great Irish Hooley, held for four days every year around Labor Day. This year is August 30th through September 2nd, and you can expect special menu items, lots of live entertainment and even Celtic face painting. It is know as the best Irish music festival on this side of the Atlantic.
St. Patrick’s Day is extremely popular here as well. Raglan Road throws a three day event for it with a similar vibe as the music festival. If you want to dine here, expect a $10 cover charge a very long wait even with a reservation! However, the atmosphere is unmatched and perfect for celebrating the holiday.
You may not expect to find such a lively Irish Pub right in the middle of Disney World, but Raglan Road has accomplished this. This has been a favorite for its food and its atmosphere since 2005! I have so many memories here from celebrating my husband’s 21st birthday to going for an untraditional Thanksgiving in 2016. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time to jump on the bandwagon and try it out. Here’s what to know for when you do.
