I completed my first 5K today! I ran it in 28 minutes and 34 seconds and came in 6th for the 20-24 age women’s group. I am pretty happy with my results, and I will aim to reduce my time by a minute next year and hopefully get in the top 5. The top 5 win an actual medal instead of just a finishers medal. Andrew came in 5th for his age group with a time under 23 minutes!

It was a beautiful morning but still very hot! Florida races can be difficult because of that.

After the race, they released a sea turtle into the ocean. They found him as a baby and rehabilitated him at Sea World until he was ready to make it in the ocean!

We saw two corgis cheering us on too! Andrew and I can’t wait to get one of these cuties.

If you love turtles, than this is the 5K for you! You can walk or run and still get a cute finisher medal and shirt regardless. This is an annual event that I plan to participate in every year since it is local and it supports the excellent Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
