Yellow Dog Cafe Review: Romantic Riverside Dining
For our five year anniversary, Andrew and I went to the Yellow Dog Cafe to celebrate. We had not been here before, but had heard great things about this restaurant located on the Indian River. It ended up being the perfect place for a romantic dinner.
We chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful views. We were one of two couples sitting out on the deck and it felt like a private dinner. We loved watching the cranes on the shore and fish jumping out of the water.
For an appetizer, we shared the pastry wrapped brie with fruit. It was a delicious assortment of fruit that went very well with the savory cheese and crackers. We each then got a classic Cesar salad with anchovies and they were very fresh and tasty.
Not surprisingly given its location, Yellow Dog Cafe has a wide range of seafood options. For my entree I got the potato crusted salmon with a sundried tomato risotto, asparagus and a lobster saffron sauce. It was some of the best salmon I have had!
The potato crust was crisp and the sauce tied it all together perfectly. The risotto was perfectly cooked too. Andrew got the tuna steak with noodles and veggies. The tuna was rare with a slight sear and so flavorful. The rest of the veggies and noodles went along nicely.
After this dinner Yellow Dog Cafe has become one of our favorite Space Coast restaurants. We were very impressed with everything from the atmosphere to the unique menu options and the excellent execution of them. We were too full for dessert, but we took a relaxing walk on the dock and enjoyed the sunset before leaving.
This restaurant is definitely worth stopping by for a coastal meal.
