The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is offering an amazing sign-on bonus again! If you haven’t gotten this credit card yet, now is the time. The Chase Sapphire cards are my favorite travel credit cards because of their versatility and ease of earning points.

Currently, you can earn 80,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 in 3 months when you get a Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. Make sure you can meet this spend without going into debt before signing up for this card because the interest you would pay on it would not make the bonus worth it. I like to get a new credit card before a trip or an upcoming big purchase I know I can meet it! Once you meet the spend, you will get your 80,000 points on the next statement. There are so many ways to use these points, but these are what I think are the best ways to spend your Chase Ultimate Reward Points. All inclusive hotel with points

4 Nights at an All-Inclusive Hotel

One of my first points redemptions is still my favorite and that was going to the Hyatt Ziva Cancun for our honeymoon. This hotel costs 25,000 points per night and that includes food, drinks and tons of activities too! This resort features stylish rooms, multiple gorgeous pools, beach access and a dozen delicious dining options.

Currently, Hyatt has all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. They all cost 25,000 points per night, with the exception of the Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta resorts which cost 20,000 (meaning you could get 4 free nights at these). Though I have only stayed at one of these, I hear they are all very comparable quality-wise and you will not be disappointed by the food or amenities.

To book an all-inclusive stay with points, once you get your Chase points, you simply transfer them to your World of Hyatt account. Then you book your hotel stay through the Hyatt website. The points rate stays the same all year, although some nights do sell out, so be sure to check the availability before transferring your points. If you want to make this a honeymoon stay like we did, I recommend both you and your significant other each get the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (your own, not become an authorized user). This way you can get up to 8 free nights just from your bonus points after meeting the required spend!

3 Round Trip Flights to Hawaii

Another great way to maximize Chase Ultimate Rewards Points is to book a flight to Hawaii. These can be so expensive in cash, but you can get a round trip coach flight to Hawaii on United for only 35,000 points a person. After meeting the required spend, you will have at least 84,000 chase points (80,000 bonus + at least 1 point per dollar spent on the required spend). With an extra $1000 or less in spend, you will have enough points for 2 round trip flights to Hawaii.

When we went in 2018, we used a similar method of transferring Chase Ultimate Reward Points to Korean Air and then booking through that portal a Delta flight. That method is no longer valid, but you can do the same thing with Singapore Airlines and United instead, as they are partner airlines.

To do this, first search for award flights to Hawaii on the United Airlines website and write down your preferred flight numbers and times. Then go to the Singapore Airlines website and click “Redeem Flights’. From here, make a KrisFlyer account and enter your travel dates and cities. This will lead you to flight options where you. Once you find the flights you prefer, you will see the exact number of points required (sometimes there is a discount, but usually 35,000 points per round trip) and the taxes (about $10 per flight). At this point, transfer your points through the Chase portal. It can take a few days, so you may want to call KrisFlyer (312-843-5333) and they can help you reserve it. I did my booking with Korean Air completely over the phone, and though it may seem confusing, the whole process is pretty straightforward!

If you prefer a different airline than United, you can also book a flight through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal, which frequently ends up being a good deal regardless if you are paying in cash or points. A simple search shows round-trip flights as low as 40,000 points from Orlando to Maui if you are flexible. You can also transfer points to Southwest, which tends to offer cheap flights to Hawaii as well. With a 80,000-point bonus, there are plenty of ways to get at least 2 round-trip flights to Hawaii!

7 Nights at a Hyatt Hotel That Costs Over $400 Per Night

Frequent blog readers know that I usually stay at Hyatt hotels and it is all because of their amazing point redemptions! Hyatt hotels range from a measly 5,000 to 30,000 points per night, which is much less than Marriott, Hilton or IHG. Though their top hotels, like the all-inclusive mentioned above or luxurious options like the Andaz Maui cost at least 20,000 points per night, I find Category 4 to be a sweet spot. This contains hotels that costs 15,000 points per night, but are often still amazing places to stay.

In Florida, this includes excellent hotels like the Confidante Miami, the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, and the Hyatt House Naples. These hotels frequently cost over $200 per night, but during peak times can be at least $400 per night. Their locations are prime and they have tons of amenities. Paying with points also means you waive the “destination fee” like the $40 one at The Confidante, which adds even more to the savings!

Other Hyatt hotels we have found in this category include the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, which was in the ideal location and the Hyatt Place Anaheim which was within walking distance to Disneyland, making it cost $500 per night! Though less luxurious, the Hyatt Place Keystone was also a deal, as it was so close to a ski resort and even had deals for skiing.

I also have my eye on the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort for a glamorous desert stay in New Mexico and the Hyatt Regency Sonoma for a convenient wine country stay. With transferring Chase Ultimate Reward Points to Hyatt, you could get a one week stay at any of these. For category 1-3 hotels, you can stay even longer, or break it into smaller trips! There is no requirement for the amount of night using points and they do not expire either. This is why I am always preaching that staying at Hyatt hotels are some of the best ways to use Chase Ultimate Reward Points.

A Round Trip Flight to Europe

This last redemption as a splurge for us in terms of points, but so worth it! If you want to fly to Europe for free, the best way is to redeem 60,000 points for a round trip coach flight on United or one of their partners. Though the 80,000-point bonus only covers one ticket here, your travel companion could open their own Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and book s flight with that bonus as well. Then you are left with at least 40,000 points to book a Hyatt hotel in Europe too 😊

This method is a lot easier than the Hawaii flight because it’s not as good as a deal. But basically, you can search through the United website for points with flights and pick the one that best suits you on either United, Lufthansa, Air Canada Aer Lingus or any of the other Star Alliance airlines. Once you confirm you can book one for 60,000 points round-trip, transfer your points to your United account and simply book it!

If you want to get an even better deal, you can do a multi-city round-trip. This way you can visit different countries during your trip! We did this by flying to Barcelona, then to Dublin, then back to Orlando, all for only 60,000 points per person. This does end up costing at least $60 per person in taxes, but I still think that is a deal for a flight to Europe!

To do this, all you do is click the multi-city option on the United website and search through different options within the points range. It works to be flexible with dates and even destinations here, because it depends what will be available. I honestly wasn’t that interested in going to Ireland, but figured might as well since it was free and of course I ended up loving it! So, if you are looking for an adventure, this is one of the best ways to use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to get it!

Know Before You Go: The Best Ways to Use Your Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Bonus

I know I have mentioned these deals before on my blog, but with the new 80,000 bonus points deal for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, I wanted to easily reiterate them in one place! We have saved over $30,000 traveling by using credit card points since 2017 and it is mainly thanks to Chase Ultimate Rewards Points. Though I know not everyone has time off or the money to meet these credit card spends, I think with a little planning, most people can save money by traveling with points like us! Here are some things to keep in mind before signing up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.

  • In order to get the 80,000 Chase Ultimate Reward Points, you need to get approved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and then spend $4,000 in 3 months. They have a tracker on your account to make sure you meet it in time.
  • Again, make sure you can pay off your balance in full. The interest rate on the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is at least 15.99%, so you do not want to have pay interest on this card.
  • Chase will not approve you for this credit card if you have opened up 5 or more credit cards in the last two years. This does not include business credit cards.
  • Also, Chase will not approve you if you have already been approved for 2 Chase credit cards in the past 30 days.
  • Every dollar you spend on the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card earns 1 point. Any dollar spent under the dining or travel category earns 2 points and this includes restaurants, fast food places, coffee shops, hotels airlines, rental cars, tolls, parking, public transportation and more.
  • You can combine point with any member of your household or transfer them to travel partners including Hyatt, Southwest, Untied, Marriott, IHG, JetBlue and more.
  • This is the best sign-on offer Chase has ever offered and it can end at any time. Learn more, through my affiliate link, if you want to ensure you get this offer!
