Park Pizza & Brewing Co. at Lake Nona Review

My Orlando brewery series continues with a look at Park Pizza & Brewing Co. This brewery opened up less than a year ago and has already been a hit in Lake Nona. When we saw the beer lineup and the pizza menu, we knew we had to visit!

It’s been a few months since we checked out this place and I am hoping to go back soon to try the summer beers. Between this spot and Ten10 and Ellipsis Brewing, I am really loving the Orlando brewery scene. While we were here we tried a flight of beers and a couple of pizzas. The short story is that everything was excellent, but read on if you need some more convincing to go to this brewery!

Location and Atmosphere

Park Pizza & Brewing Co. is located in the growing downtown area of Lake Nona. It is right across from Boxi Park, a fun hangout area, and near a bunch of other restaurants. This is a great area of Central Florida to visit if you want to try some different drinks and food.

Unlike other breweries, they have a lot of space to work with and it’s one of the largest restaurants in the area. There are tons of tables and chairs inside, some with a view of the brewing system. They also have a bunch of TV’s on the wall if you are here for a sporting event. Park Pizza has picnic tables outside, but there were too many bugs out when we went to sit there.

This brewery/restaurant has a very laid back atmosphere that would be good for lots of occasions! The best thing is you don’t have to struggle to find a table like at many other breweries. I especially love all the colorful paintings on the walls!

Beers and More

Currently, Park Pizza & Brewing Co. has fourteen of their own beers on tap and a few guest taps. They do not seem to name most of their core beers and have a solid lineup. This includes a Blonde Ale, a Vienna Lager, a Brown Ale and an IPA. I found these beers to be stay true to the style with a slight twist. For instance, the Blonde Ale was on the dank side, which I had not experienced before.

This brewery has come up with some more inventive beers as part of their Weird Summer series. Every week, they had a different one on tap with options like the Marvin Berry Berliner Wiesse and the Lemon and Rosemary Boo Radler. I am looking forward to see what else Park Pizza & Brewing Co. creates through the years!

Beers are served by the glass from $4-$8 and by the pitcher from $20-$30. It’s rare to see craft beer by the pitcher, so it’s a pretty good deal if you only want one kind!. Flights are available for those like us who prefer tasting a bunch for $8 for four pours.

In addition to craft beer, they also have a large selection of wine by the glass, bottle or on tap. There’s a full bar with a few specialty cocktails and sangria options. With Park Pizza being a restaurant there is a full selection of soft drinks and other nonalcoholic beverages one would want with dinner. This is definitely a place the whole family can enjoy!

The Food at Park Pizza & Brewing Co.

With a lot of breweries, the food is an afterthought, but that is definitely not the case here! This brewery is not only serves wood-fired pizza, but salads and snacks too. I would definitely recommend getting the pizza there, but it’s nice to have a fresh salad on the side or a pretzel to start out the meal.

This pizzas come in a variety of styles or you can create your own. Sauces include classic tomato, garlic cream, blue cheese and pesto. As for toppings they have pretty much every kind you can think of, from chorizo to zucchini. You can get a 12 inch personal for $12 or a shareable 16 inch for $18. The quality is excellent and very much worth the price!

Our Experience

We visited this brewery on a gorgeous Saturday and as usual, wanted to sit outside. Like I mentioned earlier though, there were lots of bugs flying around. I’m not sure if it’s always like that, but it was enough to get us inside!

I love trying flights whenever I am at a brewery, so of course I got one today. They only had a small selection of their house beers, so Andrew and I tried most of them and then a few guest beers on tap. Of the Park Pizza & Brewing Co. beers, we had the IPA, the Blonde Ale, the Belgian Wit, and the Vinena Lager. I was sad that they were out of the Hibiscus Gose and the American Oatmeal Stout I wanted to try!

Out of all the beers, the Blonde Ale was my favorite and the Wit was Andrew’s. The IPA was a little lighter than I prefer, but it did make it refreshing. I also got two guest taps that I could not resist the sound of. One was the Ellipsis Brewing Half Court Dunk Sour, which is the orange juice looking beer in the picture. The other was the Central 28 Trekker Bier Saison and both rounded out my flight nicely!

After settling in with our flights, we ordered to personal pizzas to split. It was hard to decide, but we landed on the Pepperoni Picante and the Awesome Saus. When they arrived sizzling out of the oven, I knew this would be a treat!

Both pizzas were so delicious and I was excited we had some leftover for the next day. The Awesome Saus has elephant garlic, mushrooms, red pepper, red onion and sausage on it. This made for an amazing combination, especially thanks to the savory garlic! The Pepperoni Picante was perfectly on the spicy side with banana peppers and chili flakes along with the pepperoni. I love that they bring out a bowl of fresh parmesan to sprinkle on top as well. Between the beer and the crispy crust pizza, it was a very filling meal, but worth every calorie!

Events and More at Park Pizza & Brewing Co.

With Lake Nona expanding so much, Park Pizza & Brewing Co. is constantly joining in on local events. For one thing, you can find this beer on tap at the Boxi Park. They have also hosted a beer garden during the Great American block party event for the Fourth of July.

With all the TV’s on the walls, this brewery has had watch parties for events like the US Open and the Women’s World Cup. I can’t imagine a better place to cheer on your favorite team! If you prefer to go during less busy times, there is happy hour Moday-Friday from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. They offer $4 pints, $5 flights and half off sangria!

Know Before You Go: Park Pizza & Brewing Co.

Lake Nona is quickly getting on the Orlando radar and Park Pizza & Brewing Co. helps solidify its status as an awesome place to visit. It is only a few minutes away from the airport and half an hour from Disney World. If you are just visiting the area, this makes it easy to stop here on your trip! If you are a local, I’m sure you will be hearing about this place more and more, so be sure to check it out! Here’s a few things to keep in mind for your visit.

• Park Pizza & Brewing Co. opens at 11 AM every day and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 AM on Friday and Saturday.
• Seating is available inside and outside and dogs are allowed on the patio.
• They have at least a dozen beers on tap costing between $4 and $8 per pour.
• Growler and Crowler fills are not available at this time, but beer flights are.
• Wine is served for $8-$14 per glass and cocktails are also available.
• Food is served all day and you can order takeout online.
• There is plenty of free parking in the downtown area.
• Happy hour is 3:30-6:30 PM Monday-Friday.
